Jean-Pierre Soublière is the President of Anderson Soublière Inc., an executive focused consulting corporation. Founded in 1996, the Company has been an advisor to corporations such as the Merrill Lynch Investment Banking Group, Adobe, CGI, Dell Computer Corporation, NCS Pearson, SAP, Open Text, and SAS. The company also includes several Federal Government Departments as well as the Ontario Government as part of its client list. From January 1997 to January 1999, he was also the President and COO of Alis Technologies. Previously, during his 19 years at Systemhouse, he served as President, Systemhouse Canada and International.
Prior to joining Systemhouse, JP worked for the Canadian Federal Government, Carleton University and Northern Telecom, and was a part-time instructor at the University of Québec-Hull.
JP is also a past board member of several corporations such as Provance Technologies (Chair), UniMedia, Microstar Software, Simware, Med-Eng Systems, Positron Public Safety Systems, E-Witness, Nstein Technologies, IDC, OLG, and AECL, where he served as Acting Chair (2005-06) and Chair of the Audit Committee.
He also served on the boards of the Information Technology Association of Canada, the Canadian Advanced Technology Association, the Ottawa-Carleton Board of Trade, the University of Ottawa, the Ottawa Health Research Institute, the University of Ottawa Hearth Institute, the Ottawa Hospital (Chair), the E-Health Council of the Champlain Local Health Integration Network (Chair), the City of Gatineau’s Strategic Planning Committee, Accreditation Canada, the Inter-American Development Bank’s Industry Advisory Council and the national Board of United Way of Canada (Chair).
He chaired the 1989 United-Way Campaign in Ottawa, as well as the task force that coordinated health care re-structuring in Eastern Ontario from 1998 to 1999. In 1998, he chaired the Canadian Federal Government’s Ad Hoc Industry Advisory Committee on Electronic Commerce, and participated on the Canadian E-Business Opportunities Roundtable, and the GOL Advisory Committee to the President of the Treasury Board of the Federal Government. He was the moderator for the Government of Canada’s Innovation Summit for the Ottawa-Gatineau Region, served as an advisor to the Auditor General of Canada on Management Reporting, and was a member of an independent panel providing oversight as to the security of information for the 2006 Census.
He also served as the Independent Officer for the Whistleblower Policy within the CBC, and was a member of the Services Canada Advisory Board.
Currently, he is a member of several Councils and Boards including the Harmony Foundation (Chair), the Hospice at May Court (Chair), the advisory board of Talent Map Inc, Accreditation Canada International (Chair of Audit Committee), and the Audit Committees of Public Works Government Services Canada, and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission.
In 1995, he was named Business Person of the Year by the Ottawa-Carleton Board of Trade. He was also awarded the 1996 Prix d’Excellence by the Regroupement des gens d’affaires, the 1997 Trudeau Medal by the University of Ottawa, the President’s Award for United Way Ottawa (1996), the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal (2002), the Order of Ottawa for Economic Development (2004), and the 2006 Award of Distinction, United Way Canada.
JP is a graduate of the University of Ottawa (BCom, 1967), the University of British Columbia (MBA, 1971), and the Institute of Corporate Directors (2008).
He is a member of the RGA, and the Hunt Golf and Country Club, but mostly the proud husband of Cathie. Together, their key achievement consists of four married children and 11 grand-children.
