Tim Ragan, MBA
Business Engineer, C-View Strategies, Inc. - Ottawa, ON, Canada

Tim Ragan

Tim Ragan, Business Engineer, is a seasoned technology business executive that has “specialized in being an excellent generalist”.  Tim's business experience includes over 25 years in 11 functional capacities and 8 management and executive roles on 3 continents with 6 multi-billion dollar corporations.  And for a totally different business and management experience, Tim joined on as CEO to work with the Board and founders to retool and commercialize a tech start-up during the 2001/2002 technology industry melt-down. After 25 years of fun, excitement, and a pretty full toolbox of lessons, experiences, and approaches, Tim decided that he was well overdue in slipping the corporate yoke and went into business for himself, launching C-View Strategies in 2003 to  focus on helping CEO’s and their teams thrive in today’s rapidly evolving business world.  In 2009, Tim also took on ownership and operations of  Career Coaching International (CCI) to experiment with his evolving concepts on building scalable and agile businesses, and to focus on growing the company into an innovative category leader.

Overall, Tim is most passionate about “business done well”, and is dedicated to helping his C-View client companies survive and thrive in high-change environments in ways that produce powerful, positive, and lasting business results. Tim brings that same passion to CCI where he and his team are keen to help people better understand the “realities” of the modern working world, discover their true calling, and really blossom in their chosen career directions.

Lately, Tim has been researching and developing various themes about how we might go about reforming business so that it is in better alignment with 21st century societal imperatives. While still very early in the exploration of this massive undertaking, the outlines of Tim's approach and beliefs can be seen in The Business Detox Project, which has been structured as a not-for-profit research and policy advocacy organization.

Tim has a B.Sc. (Electrical Engineering) from University of Alberta and an MBA from University of Ottawa. At the U of O, Tim is a (part-time) professor/lecturer who regularly teaches “Business & Society”, a course that examines the ethical and moral implications of modern business and its interaction with government and civil society. He has also taught marketing strategy, international business, and BPR (business process redesign) courses over recent years.
