Paul Knudsen graduated from the University of Ottawa with an MBA and law degree (LL.B.) in 1987. Mr. Knudsen was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1989. Mr. Knudsen practised law at Borden & Elliot (now Borden Ladner Gervais) in Toronto until joining Nortel in 1996. While in Toronto, Mr. Knudsen was active in the Toronto Computer Lawyers’ Group serving in various capacities including one year as Treasurer and one year as Chairman.
Mr. Knudsen relocated with his family to Georgia in 2000, and then to Texas in 2003 where he served as Nortel’s General Counsel, Global Operations. Mr. Knudsen joined Ciena Corporation in 2010 and is Vice President and Associate General Counsel.
Mr. Knudsen is an active musician and songwriter, playing guitar in Ciena’s corporate band and in a local Dallas area band.
