CONNECTS YOU TO WHAT MATTERS

Simon Nasr, BCom
Manager, Strategic Sourcing and Contract Management, Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) - Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Simon Nasr

Simon is currently leading the Procurement and Contract Management department at the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC). Prior to joining MPAC, Simon held various senior procurement positions in both the public and private sectors within some of Canada’s largest and highest profile companies (Loblaw Companies Limited, IBM). Simon had also founded a boutique consulting firm called Levant Enterprises Inc., which specialized in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing and Business Development. Levant helped public sector clients to implement procurement best practices, subsequently increasing their compliance with provincial guidelines and directives.

Simon attributes his corporate and entrepreneurial success to the practical lessons taught to him at the Telfer School of Management, and his overall experiences at the University of Ottawa. As a student athlete playing on the Gee-Gees Varsity Football Team, Simon learned the importance of teamwork, dedication and time management. The qualities and skills gained through the combination of education and sports form the guiding principles for all of Simon’s endeavors and helped shape the person that he is today.

One of Simon’s greatest accomplishments was co-founding a non-for-profit organization called The Canadian Organization for Recreation and Education (CORE). CORE worked in partnership with the University of Ottawa and helped place University of Ottawa students, enrolled in the In School Recreation Mentoring For Youth At Risk course under the guidance of Professor Don Dawson, in schools within the Ottawa area to help identify and mentor at risk youth.

Simon earned two degrees from the University of Ottawa: a Bachelor of Social Science and a Bachelor of Business Commerce in International Management. Simon was the recipient of the Dorothy Thompson Award, which is granted to students who have demonstrated academic achievement and have leadership qualities as members of an intercollegiate athletic team. Simon is fluent in several languages, and conducts business in French and English.
