Before starting her own consultancy business, Mona Fortier managed La Cité's recruitment and marketing strategies, and played a key role in its public relations and communications activities.
Before joining Collège La Cité, Mona Fortier was co-owner and general manager of Equinox Affaires publiques. With many years of experience as a consultant and in strategic alliance and partnership development, she has acquired a specialized expertise in public relations, marketing, communications, and research and development, as well as in business development.
Mona Fortier has a master’s of business administration (MBA - 1998) from the Telfer School of Management and a bachelor of social sciences, honours in sociology, from the University of Ottawa. While at Telfer, Ms. Fortier was actively involved in student life, participating, for example, in a high tech case study competition and supporting the activities of the student council. As a full-time student, she was President of the Fédération de la jeunesse canadienne-française and was a member of the council of governors of the Fédération des communautés francophones et acadiennes du Canada.
Beyond her fields of expertise and her talents, Mona has gained, over the years, an impressive network of contacts that she constantly feeds through her professional activities.
Deeply involved in her community, she is currently sitting on the board of directors of the Montfort Hospital as secretary of the executive committee as well as president of its Quality Council. She also serves on the board of the Fondation franco-ontarienne. As well, she sits on the board of the Shaw Centre.
