John Duncan is Group Human Resources Director, Royal Mail in London, UK. Royal Mail is the national postal service of the United Kingdom. Royal Mail Holdings plc owns Royal Mail Group Limited, which in turn operates the brands Royal Mail (UK letters), Parcelforce Worldwide (UK parcels) and General Logistics Systems GLS (European parcels business). Post Office Ltd, which provides counter services, is a wholly owned subsidiary. John was previously Senior Vice-President, Human Resources, Canada Post. In this role John was focused on strengthening the overall management team as well as furthering employee engagement objectives and cultural change. John holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Law from Carleton University and an Executive MBA from the University of Ottawa. He is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC), Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP), and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). He has also completed the Advanced Programs in Strategic Change Management and Human Resources Management at the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Business, the University of Windsor's Advanced Alternative Dispute Resolution program and the Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching from Royal Roads University. He obtained the Chartered Director (C.Dir.), and the Human Resources and Compensation Committee Certified (HRCCC) designations from The Directors College (a joint venture of McMaster University and The Conference Board of Canada). He is currently a Doctoral candidate in the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania’s Chief Learning Officer program. John was previously a member of the Board of Directors of SCI Logistics Inc., a Canada Post subsidiary company, where he chaired their HR and Pensions Committee and also the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business.
